The Telugu action-romantic film Robinhood hit the silver screens on March 28, 2025, and recorded a fair start at the box office. Starring Nithiin and Sreeleela, the movie has generated considerable buzz due to its flashy promotions and catchy music. As per early estimates, Robinhood earned around Rs 2.00 crore net on its opening day in India.
The film managed an overall Telugu occupancy rate of 21.56% on Day 1, which is a decent start considering it was a regular Friday without a public holiday. The occupancy data reveals that the film picked up pace during the night shows, clocking a solid 28.15% occupancy, indicating positive word-of-mouth from the initial audience.
Hyderabad, the stronghold of Telugu cinema, led the regional occupancy with 29.75%, while Bengaluru followed with a modest 12.75%. Morning shows opened with a 19.62% turnout, gradually rising to 21.84% in the afternoon. However, there was a slight dip during the evening (16.62%) before bouncing back at night.
Despite receiving mixed to positive reviews from critics, Robinhood seems to have found its audience, especially among the youth, thanks to its stylish presentation and engaging performances. The first-day figure of Rs 2 crore may not be record-breaking, but it does set a stable foundation for the weekend. Much will depend on Saturday and Sunday footfalls to determine if Robinhood can turn into a profitable venture.
The coming days will be crucial as the film competes with other releases and seeks to maintain its momentum at the ticket window. If word-of-mouth continues to improve, especially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, Robinhood might witness an upward trend in collections.
