Sree Vishnu is back on the big screen in the romantic comedy Vishnu Vinyasam, which is directed by Yaadunath Maruthi Rao, who is making his first movie. The movie stars Nayan Sarika as the main female character and mixes young love, comedy, and family drama.
Story
The movie is set in Ongole and follows Vishnu, a junior lecturer at a private college who strongly believes in astrology and numerology. Predictions and the positions of the planets guide every choice he makes in life. He has such strong faith that he always asks an astrologer for advice before making even the smallest decisions.
When he meets the lively and unpredictable Manisha, his life takes an unexpected turn. As love grows between them, Vishnu finds himself in new emotional territory. But there is a threat lurking beneath the romance that slowly starts to mess up his life, which seems to be going well.
What Works
Sree Vishnu is the best thing about the movie. The actor proves yet again why he is often called the "King of Entertainment." He has great comic timing. His performance carries a lot of the movie, especially in the first half, where a lot of funny things happen that work well. The parts where he sings "Veeri Veeri Gummadi Pandu" and "Vaana Vaana Vaana" make it more fun.
Nayan Sarika looks great on screen and gives a strong performance. She is more than just a pretty face; more mature in emotional scenes and has good chemistry with Sree Vishnu. The first half is fast-paced and full of youthful energy, which keeps it from being boring. Comedian Satya does a good job as Vishnu's friend, and the rest of the supporting cast fits well into their roles.
What Doesn't
The movie starts off on a fun note, but it slows down after the break. In the second half, the story turns into a family drama, which feels drawn out and slows things down. Some of the most important twists leading up to the climax aren't new; Telugu movies have already used similar ideas.
It seems like the villains' reasons for doing what they do and how they do it aren't very believable, which makes some parts feel over-the-top. The movie could have been a lot better if the script had been tighter and the emotional arc had been handled in a more interesting way. Also, Radhan's music doesn't stick with you, and there aren't any standout songs.
Technicalities
Sai Sriram's cinematography does a great job of capturing the small-town setting and making it look good. The production values are good, but the editing could have been sharper so that the second half doesn't feel so long. Director Yaadunath Maruthi Rao does a good job with the funny parts, but he has trouble keeping things consistent throughout. The main idea was familiar, so it needed a new and more interesting way of presenting it.

Verdict
In general, parts of Vishnu Vinyasam work. It has a few fun parts, mostly thanks to Sree Vishnu's lively acting and good comic timing. Nayan Sarika adds beauty and depth to the story. But because the story is predictable, the second half is slow, and the music isn't very good, it's not a fully satisfying entertainer. Fans of lighthearted romantic comedies should only watch it once.
