Actor Vijay Deverakonda recently shared a joyful set of pictures from the Makar Sankranti puja held at his home, giving fans a rare and intimate look into how his family celebrated the harvest festival.
Taking to Instagram, Vijay posted a series of photographs that beautifully captured the essence of Sankranti in its most authentic form. The images clearly shows warmth, tradition, and togetherness—values that lie at the heart of the festival.
Dressed in traditional attire, Vijay is seen participating in age-old rituals alongside his family. The visuals feature clay pots simmering over wood fires, vibrant rangoli designs adorning the floor, and idols placed carefully among flowers and festive decorations, creating a setting rooted deeply in tradition.
One of the photographs shows Vijay posing with his parents, his brother, and their family dog, making for a wholesome family portrait that quickly won hearts online.
The presence of the sacred fire, gently crackling as offerings are made, grounds the celebration in centuries-old customs—traditions that continue to thrive even within the walls of a modern home.
At the core of the photographs is a strong emotional connection—between Vijay and his mother, among family members standing together, and between generations past and present.
In one particularly touching moment, Vijay and his mother are seen seated beside the ritual fire, heads bowed in quiet reflection. The silence they share speaks volumes, capturing devotion, gratitude, and love in a single frame.
Sharing the photos, Vijay captioned the post, “Happy Sankranthi to all of you my beautiful people From our family to all of your families :) Next year I promised mom to celebrate it in the village.”
Separately, the Tollywood star also opened up about a more serious issue that has troubled him for years—organised negative campaigns and malicious online reviews targeting films.
In a candid post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Vijay reacted to a recent court order that resulted in ticketing platform BookMyShow disabling ratings and reviews for megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. The move was aimed at preventing coordinated attacks by trolls and bots.
Reacting to the development, Vijay wrote, “Happy and sad to see this – happy to know the hard work, dreams, and money of many are protected in a way. And sad because of the reality of our own people causing these problems. What happened to live and let live? And growing together?”
Vijay revealed that he first became aware of organised online harassment during the release of his 2019 film Dear Comrade. At the time, he raised concerns about negative PR and fake reviews, but they were largely brushed aside. Many in the industry believed that a good film would naturally succeed, regardless of online noise.
However, Vijay noted that filmmakers who worked with him later came to recognise the scale and impact of such coordinated negativity, acknowledging that the issue was far more serious than initially assumed.
On the personal front, Vijay is rumoured to marry Rashmika Mandanna on 26th February.
