Ram Charan is currently immersed in the sacred observance of Ayyappa Swamy Deeksha, a 41-day spiritual vow dedicated to Lord Ayyappa. Despite his international recognition and demanding film schedule, the actor continues to uphold this long-standing spiritual practice with unwavering discipline and devotion.

During the Deeksha period, Ram Charan follows strict customs associated with the vow. He wears the Ayyappa mala (sacred garland), dresses exclusively in black attire, walks barefoot, adheres to a pure vegetarian (sattvic) diet, and maintains a life of simplicity and restraint.

Recent visuals from family functions and public outings have shown the actor faithfully observing every aspect of the tradition, even while attending high-profile gatherings.

As seen in several pictures, Ram Charan was also spotted wearing the mala at Allu Arjun's party for brother Allu Sirish’s pre-wedding celebrations. His appearance at the event, while continuing to follow the vow’s guidelines, drew admiration from fans and well-wishers alike.

What is Ayyappa Deeksha?

Ayyappa Deeksha is a sacred 41-day spiritual observance undertaken by devotees of Swamy Ayyappa as a preparatory vow before embarking on the pilgrimage to the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. The practice emphasizes austerity, self-control, and inner purification, guiding devotees toward spiritual elevation and a deeper connection with the Divine.

Throughout this period, followers are required to strictly adhere to a set of religious disciplines, particularly in preparation for ascending the holy 18 steps, known as the pathinettu padikal, at the temple. A significant ritual of the Deeksha involves wearing a sacred bead chain adorned with a locket of Sree Ayyappan.

Once the mala is worn, devotees pledge to lead a life of simplicity and restraint, renouncing worldly pleasures and distractions. This includes abstaining from smoking, alcohol, and other indulgences, while embracing a path rooted in devotion, purity, and discipline.

What adds deeper significance to this observance is that Ram Charan has reportedly been undertaking the Deeksha twice every year for more than two decades. Over the years, he has seamlessly balanced this intense spiritual commitment alongside a high-pressure film career.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Ram Charan is gearing up for his next big release, Peddi, where he will be seen sharing screen space with Janhvi Kapoor. The sports drama is being directed by Buchi Babu Sana and is already generating significant anticipation among audiences.
