
Sudha Kongara's historical drama Parasakthi is enjoying a decent run at the box office after opening in the theatres with positive reviews. The film did face bumps amid the weeks of uncertainty regarding its censor permission, but it is now officially running in the theatres.
According to a trade website, Parasakthi earned Rs 3 crore net in India on the third day of its release, Monday, January 12. The film’s total now stands at Rs 25.6 crore net in India.
The film opened in theatres on January 10 and earned Rs 12.5 crore net in India, and continues its momentum, earning Rs 10.1 crore net in India. The film faced stiff competition from Prabhas' starrer horror comedy, The Raja Saab, which has surpassed Rs 100 crore net in India in just three days of its release.
Meanwhile, Parasakthi has also earned a decent collection at the worldwide box office, earning Rs 48.03 crore worldwide. The film collected Rs 17.6 crore overseas. However, the historical drama minted Rs 30.43 crore gross in India.
The film faced a few challenges just before its release. Only at the last minute, after obtaining a UA certificate from the CBFC, was the movie authorised for its January 10 distribution. The producers made 25 changes before approval, including language adjustments and visual cutbacks.
