Actor Sivakarthikeyan and director Sudha Kongara recently hosted a success party for their latest Tamil film Parasakthi in Chennai.
During the event, Sivakarthikeyan spoke about the overwhelming appreciation he received from veteran actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, calling the moments deeply special and encouraging.
Addressing the gathering, Sivakarthikeyan recalled a memorable phone call from superstar Rajinikanth after he watched the film. Sharing the experience, the actor said, “Rajinikanth sir saw the film yesterday and called me. He said it was such a brave film and was saying ‘super, super’ excited about part two.”
He further added that Rajinikanth has been following his career since Don and has even attended his film screenings, which made the praise even more meaningful. Sivakarthikeyan said it was particularly special for him, as he has been a longtime fan of the Superstar.
The actor also revealed that Kamal Haasan had watched Parasakthi even before its release and showered the film with praise. Drawing a comparison between the two legendary actors’ reactions, Sivakarthikeyan noted that while Kamal Haasan spoke for a couple of minutes after watching Amaran, he spent over five minutes discussing Parasakthi in detail, specifically praising the film and its intent.
Sivakarthikeyan said the length and depth of the appreciation meant a lot to him and felt like overwhelming validation of the film’s motive and execution. He added that the encouragement from two stalwarts of the Tamil film industry was both humbling and motivating.
During his speech, Sivakarthikeyan also spoke about his experience portraying the character Sezhiyan in the film and shared a few quirky moments related to the movie’s release.
Inspired by protests against Hindi imposition, Parasakthi has sparked controversy since its release and has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film features a star-studded ensemble cast including Atharvaa, Sreeleela, Ravi Mohan, Guru Somasundaram and Chetan.

An excerpt from Moneycontrol’s review of Parasakthi stated, "Parasakthi has a solid point and an essential message, but it doesn't do a good job of getting it over. The screenplay doesn't do a good job of showing how deep the movement is emotionally. Many situations feel like they are happening over and over again, and problems are solved too quickly. The second part gets long and boring, which lessens the total effect. It seems like the movie squandered a chance to be a strong political drama."
