One/4 is a small budget Telugu film that hit the screens this Friday (January 30) . It is a realistic criminal thriller that doesn't use fancy effects and is directed by Palani K. The story of the movie moves at a steady pace and is based on feelings. It shows how trusting the wrong people may lead to bad outcomes.
Plot:
Kiran (Venkatesh Peddapalem) is a kind, uncomplicated young guy whose life revolves around his family and a quiet crush on his sister's college acquaintance. His life changes as he befriends a group of four mechanics led by a character played by Temper Vamsi. Kiran sees them as innocent, fun-loving workers, so he lets his guard down. He isn't aware that they have dark double lives.
When Kiran's neighbour Pavithra (Heena Soni), who lives alone while her husband works in Dubai, starts talking to him about his casual interactions with the mechanics, things start to go awry. A few careless things Pavithra says and times when she trusts the wrong people put her in a lot of danger. What occurs next is a dramatic chain of events that forces Kiran to deal with the consequences of his actions and puts him on a path to taking responsibility and seeking justice.
Performances:
Venkatesh Peddapalem plays Kiran in a calm and convincing way. His portrayal of a normal young man without any heroic swagger makes the character appear more real, especially when he swings from being naive and trusting to feeling guilty and determined.
Heena Soni is great as Pavithra as she displays the emotions of loneliness, being vulnerable, and strong all at the same time. Her acting is the emotional centre of the movie, and it keeps the viewers interested in what happens to her.
Vamsi's temper makes him a big addition to the movie. His enemy is scary because it is so subtle. He smoothly changes from a harmless facade to a merciless predator without going overboard with villainy, which keeps people on edge.
Aparnna Mallick plays Kiran's love interest, and RX 100 Karan, Narendra Varma, Raju, Aparna Shetty, Madhusudan Rao, Suneetha Manohar, Srinivas Bhogireddy, Vedish Javeri, Khushboo, Sujatha, SRS Varma, and Suhani Vyas all play supporting roles that help the story move forward.
Technicalities and Analysis:
Subhash Anand's background music adds to the movie without taking away from it, and it makes things more tense when they need to be. Guna Shekhar's cinematography shows off Vizag's seaside location with natural light and a lived-in texture, which keeps the visual tone grounded.
Kung Fu Chandra and Joshua do the action choreography for the movie. They don't use over-the-top stunts; instead, they use raw, believable scenes that fit the main character's grounded personality.
One/4 stands out because of its treatment of the negative characters. The interactions between Kiran and the mechanics are well-written, which makes their deceptively simple nature truly creepy.
The first half gently makes you feel sorry for Pavithra, who is alone, while the second half intensifies the stakes. The second half is tighter and more intense, and Kiran's sudden shift adds emotional and plot weight.
Some of the best features of the movie include its controlled pacing, focused second half, and well-done climax. When characters have emotional conversations, the tension and curiosity go up even more.

Verdict:
One/4 is a well-written crime thriller that doesn't use gimmicks to tell its story. It boasts great acting, a well-written story, and a powerful emotional undercurrent that makes it tense yet still easy to relate to. People who prefer criminal dramas based on real life and about people's feelings should see this movie.
