Malayalam actor Akhil Viswanth found dead in his apartment

According to Manorama Online, people close to his family said that Akhil passed out at home and was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors said he was dead.

Akhil Viswanath, known for his work in Malayalam film, was found dead on Tuesday in Thrissur at his residence. The Kerala State Award winner's untimely demise at the age of 30 has shaken the Malayalam film industry as well as his fans.

According to Manorama Online, people close to his family said that Akhil passed out at home and was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. There is still no official word on what caused the death, although early reports imply it could have been health problems. Officials have started to follow the rules, and further information is awaited.

As per reports by Mathrubhumi.com, Akhil's father, Viswanath, is presently receiving treatment for severe injuries sustained in a recent motorcycle accident. Meanwhile, his mother, Geetha, who works at Kodaly Vyapaari Ekopana Samiti Vyaparabhavan, discovered Akhil dead at their residence while she was preparing to leave for work.

In an emotional tribute, director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan paid his condolences with a post on social media on Saturday, December 13 and wrote, "What is this mess you've shown us, Akhile?" He praised Akhil's immense talent, stating that Chola alone was enough for him to establish a firm foothold in Malayalam cinema. The director expressed profound grief, adding, "There is a share in your blood for those who darkened the future... May your soul find peace."

His co-star from Chola, Joju George, and fellow filmmaker Jeo Baby were among the many from the film fraternity who shared their condolences. Akhil was reportedly preparing for a new OTT project at the time of his untimely demise.

Akhil Viswanath has extensively worked in movies, short films, and plays for a long period, thus a lot of people know him. He is known for his hard work and as a passionate actor who loved being on the film sets all the time.

Akhil captured hearts with his powerful performance as the lead in the acclaimed film Chola (2019), directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan. He was a recipient of the Kerala State Television Award for Best Child Artist.
