Kannada actress Kavya Gowda and her husband Somashekhar were allegedly attacked by relatives. Prema, a family member, has also filed a counter-complaint, claiming that Kavya assaulted her, further escalating the situation.

The drama feud fuels in the home where several members of the extended family live together in KR Puram, Bengaluru.

Kavya Gowda, her mother-in-law, father-in-law, husband Somashekhar, and their daughter reside in a large joint family home in KR Puram. Somashekhar's older brother, his wife Prema, and their child also live there.

The animosity between the families has reportedly led to several confrontations and altercations over time. Following the altercation, Kavya Gowda has talked to the media further, reflecting on the incident.

According to IANS, Kavya talked to the media and said, “I am in the film industry and have made a name for myself. They could not tolerate this and behaved aggressively. They often mock me for coming from a middle-class background. There was a girl named Suma who looks after my daughter, and they accused her of theft. Even though my father-in-law settled the matter, the issue remains unresolved.”

Kavya Gowda also dismissed the theft allegations, stating that the house was fully covered with CCTV cameras and that everyone was thoroughly checked before entry. She questioned the claim of stolen jewellery, pointing out that it was allegedly kept in the living area, and denied any wrongdoing by her or her household.

She also talked about the personal finances and clarified, “Not a single rupee has come to me from my husband’s or father-in-law’s accounts. I have been working in the film industry for eighteen years, and I spend from my own earnings. This is my money, and I do not rely on them financially.”

She further remarked that she did not regard Prema as family, adding that she was unaware of Prema’s background and that there was no communication between them.

Meanwhile, addressing a viral video of Somashekhar allegedly assaulting someone, Kavya Gowda claimed that their two-year-old daughter was attacked, prompting her husband to retaliate.

Kavya also alleged receiving rape threats and physical assault, questioned the strength of the law, and asserted that she would seek justice through legal means.

She said, "They hit my two-year-old daughter. My husband could not stay silent and retaliated. They have threatened to rape me in front of hundreds of people. They have also attacked my private parts. Is the law so weak that they can get away with such acts? I will pursue justice legally.”
