Kannada TV actress Nandini CM died by suicide at a paying guest (PG) in Kengeri, Bengaluru. She was 26 years old.

According to NDTV, Kengeri Police have filed an Unnatural Death Report (UDR No. 76/2025) under Section 194 of the BNSS Act, 2023. The reports suggested that the incident happened between 11:16 p.m. on December 28, 2025, and 12:30 a.m. on December 29, 2025. Around 9:15 a.m. on the same day, the police were notified of the case.

The incident happened on the second level of the Kengeri PG. The FIR stated that Nandini enrolled in an engineering program at RR Institute in Hesaraghatta after completing her PUC studies in Ballari in 2018.

However, she was interested in acting and discontinued regular college attendance. She underwent acting training in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

She had been living in PG accommodations in Bengaluru since 2019 and had appeared in a number of Kannada television serials. She moved to the PG in Kengeri in August 2025.

After her father passed away in 2023, Nandini was offered a government post on humanitarian grounds, but she reportedly turned it down, preferring to pursue a career in acting. This had reportedly led to multiple disagreements with her family.

The complainant was notified by Kengeri Police on December 29 at approximately 3:45 am that her daughter had been discovered hanged in her PG room. Around eight in the morning, the family arrived in Bengaluru and collected information on the tragedy.

According to police, Nandini went to her friend Puneeth's residence on December 28 and then returned to the PG at approximately 11:23 p.m., locking her room from the inside.

Later, Puneeth tried to call her, but she didn't answer. Around 11:50 p.m., he then told Kiran, the in-charge, and Kumar, the PG manager. Nandini was found hanging from the window grille using a veil cloth after they pushed open the door.

Emergency services were immediately notified. Kengeri Police showed up and immediately verified that she had passed away.

The complainant added that Nandini had expressed in her journal that she didn't want to work for the government and that she wanted to keep performing, adding that her family didn't understand her feelings. In light of this, the family declared that they have no suspicions or accusations against anyone in relation to her passing.

PSI Hanumantha Hadimani of the Kengeri Police Station is conducting additional research.
