The release date for the highly anticipated Tamil action-drama Vaa Vaathiyaar, which stars Karthi and Krithi Shetty, has been pushed back. The movie was supposed to come out in theaters on December 12, 2025, but its release has been delayed because of a money dispute between the producers and a financier. A court has ordered that the movie not be released until the issue is settled.

Court documents say that Gnanvel Raja's company, Studio Green, borrowed ₹10.35 crore from financier Arjunlal Sunderdas in 2014. The total amount due is now about ₹21.78 crore, including interest that has built up over the years. A petition was filed in the Madras High Court to stop the movie from coming out until the unpaid bills were paid.

The court had put a temporary hold on the release on December 12 and told Gnanvel Raja to come up with a plan to pay it back. He was given many chances to pay off the loan, but he couldn't do it in the time frame that was set. In the most recent hearing, the financier said that the producer didn't keep his promises even though he had many chances to do so. Gnanvel Raja's lawyers said they would pay ₹3.75 crore within 24 hours and give documents of movable property for the rest, but the court said that they had already given them enough chances.

The Madras High Court upheld the stay on the film's release. It said that Vaa Vaathiyaar cannot be released on any platform, including theaters, digital platforms, or any other platform, until all of the money owed is paid. Because of this new information, the makers have no choice but to delay the release. An official announcement about the new release plan is expected soon.

Vaa Vaathiyaar is a great collaboration between Karthi, who is known for his range of acting skills, and Krithi Shetty, who is now one of the most bankable young actresses in South Indian cinema. Fans are excited for the movie's release in Tamil and Telugu markets because of its mix of action and emotional storytelling.

People in the industry say that the producers are looking into ways to quickly settle the money issue so that the movie can be pushed back to an early 2026 release. The delay also shows how difficult it can be behind the scenes for even big-budget movies when legal and financial issues come up.

After the court order, it seems that distributors and exhibitors are waiting for more information about the new release date. This date will be very important for planning promotions and bookings before the next theatrical window. Fans have taken to social media to show their support and disappointment, hoping that the movie's release problems will be fixed soon so they can finally see Karthi and Krithi Shetty together on the big screen.
