Dhanush is currently facing an unexpected legal storm, even as his professional journey continues at full pace.

Veteran production house Thenandal Films has sent him a legal notice demanding Rs 20 crore in compensation, alleging serious delays linked to a long-pending project.

The dispute reportedly centres on a film titled Naan Rudran, which dates back to 2016.

According to Times Now, Dhanush had signed on not only to act in the film but also to direct it. However, the project never moved forward as planned. The production house has claimed that although they agreed to certain changes in the initial approach, Dhanush did not eventually submit the complete screenplay, leaving the film stalled indefinitely.

In the legal notice issued through advocate A Chidambaram, Thenandal Films has alleged that the delay caused significant financial strain. Investments made during early production stages are said to have gone unrecovered. The notice also claims that the film was halted midway because Dhanush gave call sheets to other projects without completing this one.

As a result, the banner is now seeking Rs 20 crore to offset what it describes as mounting losses, and has indicated it may pursue further legal remedies if its demands are not met within the given timeframe.

The development has sparked considerable discussion within the Tamil film industry. Thenandal Films is a respected banner with a long legacy, and Dhanush is one of the most celebrated actors of his generation. However, it is important to note that Dhanush has not publicly responded to the allegations so far.
