Ravi Teja starrer Telugu film Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, which hit theatres on January 13, 2026, opened to an underwhelming response at the box office on its first day.

According to early estimates by trade tracking websites, the film managed to earn only Rs 2.50 crore on Day 1, falling short of expectations despite the star power attached to the project.

In terms of occupancy, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi showed a gradual improvement in audience turnout over the course of the day in Telugu (2D) theatres. Morning shows began on a modest note with 26.86% occupancy, which saw a slight rise in the afternoon as occupancy increased to 30.81%.

The upward trend continued during the evening shows, registering 32.32%, while night shows witnessed the highest footfall of the day with a comparatively stronger 43.21% occupancy, suggesting some growth in interest as the day progressed and limited word-of-mouth began to kick in.

Considering it was a regular weekday release, the opening is being termed as fair by trade observers, especially since the film carried only moderate expectations prior to its release. However, for a Ravi Teja film, the numbers are seen as below par, particularly in comparison to his earlier outings.

Directed by Kishore Tirumala, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi features Ravi Teja in the lead role, with Ashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayathi playing the female leads. The supporting cast includes Sunil, Satya, Vennala Kishore, Tarak Ponnappa and Muralidhar, adding comic and dramatic depth to the narrative.

Meanwhile, the film is also facing emerging competition as Naveen Polishetty’s latest release Anaganaga Oka Raju has already premiered in US theatres and is slated for its India release on January 14, coinciding with the Sankranthi festival.

The festive release is expected to impact the box-office prospects of Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi in the coming days.

On the work front, Ravi Teja was last seen in Mass Jathara, which released theatrically on October 31, 2025, and is currently streaming on Netflix. Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, also referred to as BMW, marks his first theatrical release of 2026, pairing him once again with Ashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayathi.
