Dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi has taken to social media to voice her views on actor Dileep’s films and to respond to criticism surrounding the ongoing discourse.
Taking to her Facebook handle, Bhagyalakshmi addressed comments suggesting that films cannot be “rescued” even with extensive PR efforts and fan backing. In a pointed remark, she wrote, “Even after spending so much money, you couldn’t save Ettan’s films, right?”
In her post, Bhagyalakshmi also reiterated why she continues to stand firmly with the survivor.
Making her stance clear, she wrote, “Those who stand with her are not doing so because she is an actress. They are standing with her because she is a woman.” She emphasised that the support goes beyond an individual case and is about ensuring that what happened should never be repeated with another girl anywhere.
Responding to social media posts questioning who would watch the survivor’s films, Bhagyalakshmi said such remarks were merely attempts to gain reach online. She contrasted this by questioning why Dileep’s films failed to succeed despite heavy spending on PR and promotional activities.
“Over these eight years, some of her films were released. Without any PR work. Without fan worship,” she added, underlining the difference she sought to highlight.
Calling the survivor’s journey a symbol of resilience, Bhagyalakshmi wrote, “She will fight. And she is fighting for your sisters too.”
She also addressed the abusive comments being directed at those supporting the survivor, making it clear that they would not engage with such attacks. “No matter who abuses us through videos or comments, none of us will respond. You don’t deserve a response,” she wrote, adding that their fight is for justice and not for issuing threats or seeking attention.
