Actor Sathyaraj, who is known for playing Kattappa in Baahubali, has been quite busy with film ventures. However, he is also reportedly dealing with personal turmoil.
The actor has also been caring for his wife, Maheswari, who has been in a coma for the past five years.
Divya Sathyaraj, his daughter and a nutritionist, revealed back in November 2024 that her mother is currently in a coma. However, she has not shared an update on her mother’s health since then, but a social media post has claimed that she is still in the same condition.
According to Divya, the actor is a loving parent in spite of his wife's illness.
She shared a picture of Sathyaraj with a bright smile and appreciated his live and care for her amma.
She penned in the caption, “My amma has been a coma patient for 4 years. She is at home, and we feed her through a PEG tube. We were totally shattered, but we will wait for a medical breakthrough with hope and positivity. We know we will get amma back."
However, when a follower questioned Divya about the cause of her mother's sickness, she confirmed that she had a brain haemorrhage, even though the post makes no mention of it.
She replied, "There were no symptoms, it happened suddenly."
On the work front, Sathyaraj was recently seen in the Hindi film Munjya, which starred Abhay Verma and Sharvari in the lead roles.
He was last seen in the latest release Vaa Vaathiyaar alongside Karthi and Krithi Shetty. Released on January 14, the film revolves around Ramu, a cop shaped by his MGR-devotee grandfather. A tragedy sparks a psychological shift, awakening a heroic alter ego from his childhood. Amid corruption, unrest, and a rebel movement, Ramu is pulled between Wu and Manjal.
