Sticking to their roots and traditions, actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda got married recently in Udaipur and their reception last night for the film fraternity and politicians is also a huge hit for various reasons.
The beautiful event took place at the luxurious Taj Krishna, Hyderabad. The couple arrived hand in hand and greeted photographers and fans who were waiting outside.
What's making more noise is their attire. Rashmika Mandanna looked great in a deep red Mysore silk saree. Vijay Deverakonda, on the other hand, wore a classic ivory veshti and shirt outfit that gave him a timeless South Indian look. But what really caught everyone's attention was the actress's fancy gold jewellery.
According to Abhishek Agarwal and Kaushik Kumar, Managing Directors of SHREE Jewellers, Rashmika's reception look was meant to be a striking tribute to heritage, craftsmanship, and symbolism.
The actress wore a dramatic statement necklace, a fancy hathphool, lotus-inspired bangles, and a waist belt with a lot of detail. Each piece was made to look rich and sculptural by mixing high art with traditional styles.
The design of the jewellery was based on the peacock and the Gandaberunda, a mythical bird that is a royal symbol of the Wadiyar Dynasty. The design was a nod to Rashmika's cultural roots, and the woven patterns in her saree also hinted at this.
One of the best pieces was the Peacock Fountain Necklace, which was made in the traditional Nakshi style. The design had sculpted peacocks around a fountain-like structure, which stood for wealth and royalty. The necklace looked even better with emeralds and custom Burma rubies set in glowing Kundan work. It had a rich and colourful look.
The grand odiyanam had the same design language all the way around the waist. The earrings and bangles had delicate bird and lotus patterns that made the whole look more balanced.
On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda's jewellery was simple but strong. He wore two solid white gold chains that looked good with his traditional clothes.
The jewellers said that the reception set stood out not only because it was made of gold, but also because it was made so well. Artisans had to be very careful when doing things like dimensional repoussé work, layered gold droplets, and handset Kundan detailing.
The couple had another big party in Hyderabad after their private wedding in Udaipur earlier this year.
