The Kapoor family, including Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karisma Kapoor, and others, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally invite him to join the celebrations marking the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor.

The family expressed their pride in honoring Raj Kapoor's enduring legacy and contributions to Indian cinema, making it a milestone event in Bollywood history.

During their conversation with the Prime Minister, Ranbir Kapoor shared that the family had meticulously planned for the meeting, frequently discussing on their WhatsApp group how they would address him.

He said, "Last week, on our WhatsApp family group, we were deciding how to address you as Prime Minister, Prime Minister sir. Rima aunty called me daily asking if she could say this, or say that."

Prime Minister Modi reassured the Kapoor family that they could address him as they preferred, even asking them to see him as a member of their family. When Reema Jain, Raj Kapoor’s daughter, formally addressed him as "Respected Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi," he playfully interrupted with a cheerful "Cut," bringing a light-hearted moment to the meeting.

Reema further mentioned, "In such a precious time, you have invited everyone here on Raj Kapoor's 100th birthday. We thank you. And I remembered a couple of lines from Papa's movie. I will not live, you will not live, but there will be memories. You have given so much love and respect to today's India. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given so much respect to the Kapoor family. It is a great honour for me to welcome you. And Raj Kapoor's 100th birthday is the golden age of India's film industry".

RK said they enjoyed conversing with him and even asked him some personal questions. He also admitted that everyone, including him, was nervous about the meeting. However, the Prime Minister's warm nature helped them feel at ease. Saying, "Unhone bohot hi friendly nature se baat ki. I think humare andar jo nervousness thi, aur hum sab ki hawa tight thi. Lekin was very good and made us all feel very comfortable. I really thank him," (He talked with a friendly nature; I think we all were nervous, but he was good.)

In addition to Ranbir, his sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and others shared pictures of their meeting with PM Modi on their Instagram handles.
