Rakesh Roshan, a veteran Bollywood actor and director best known for helming blockbusters like Krrish and Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, recently had surgery on his neck.

The 74-year-old, who is also the father of Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, had an angioplasty performed to address a health concern.

While the news understandably stirred concern among fans, his daughter Sunaina Roshan has stepped forward to assure well-wishers that there is absolutely no cause for alarm. Speaking to Amar Ujala, she confirmed that the surgery went smoothly and her father is now on the road to recovery.

"There was an angioplasty which was done of her father's neck. But, he is perfectly ok now. Nothing to worry at all. He is resting now," Sunaina said.

In Rakesh Roshan's case, an angioplasty was done on the neck, most likely to treat carotid artery blockage, a condition that can cause major problems if left untreated.

For the unaware, Angioplasty is a common procedure used to restore blood flow through arteries. Thankfully, the intervention seems to have been effective and timely.

Rakesh Roshan has also experienced health scares in the past. He received an early-stage throat cancer diagnosis in 2018, but after surgery and treatment, he recovered well.

Roshan, who is well-known for his tenacity and orderly way of living, is still involved in the movie business and has reportedly been working on a new script lately.

The Roshan family has always had a close relationship and is frequently seen helping one another out when they reach important personal and professional milestones. Although Hrithik, who has a close relationship with his father, has not yet made any public remarks regarding the situation, family sources indicate that he has supported his father during the surgery and recuperation.

Social media has been used by fans nationwide to wish the senior filmmaker a quick recovery. There is a general sense of relief that the adored director is doing well and is just taking some time to relax after Sunaina's assurance.
