Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna ruled the hearts of Indians with his stellar performance for several years, and his legacy still continues. However, the veteran actor expected to be served like a king during his mealtime.
During a recent conversation shared on the YouTube channel Reel Meets Real with Pooja Samant, Rajesh’s alleged girlfriend, Anita Advani, claimed in a recent interview that Rajesh invariably requested a variety of dishes at the dinner table.
She revealed that even when he wanted to eat a parantha, he would anticipate seeing a variety of them on the table. He would then take a bite out of each one and discard the others.
Rajesh Khanna allegedly always wanted a large assortment of food on the dining table, according to Anita. She recalled that she occasionally prepared meals for him, despite the fact that he had a cook.
Anita Advani recalled, “He had about 6-7 staff members and a cook was always there in the house. I would also cook for him sometimes. Like he really enjoyed ‘chhole’ so I learnt to make that with ‘bhaturas’. He really liked all of that. He enjoyed eating such dishes. He was quite a foodie.”
She revealed that he would not like it if there were fewer than ten things on the dining table and that he wanted dosa every day.
The actress added, “He wanted dosa everyday. He wouldn’t like it if there were less than 10 items on the table. Me and the staff of the house wouldn’t understand what to do. Like when he wanted paranthas, he would ask us to make one each of aloo, mooli, gobhi. He would take a bite from each of the paranthas.”
In response to the host's question about whether the remaining food would be wasted, she revealed that the house staff would share their meals.

The actress further noted, “Even the staff would eat the same thing. The staff wouldn’t eat separately,” she said and added, “If you didn’t serve him food with so many options, he would ask ‘Hum refugee hain kya? Khana nahi dete (Are we refugees? That there’s no food’).’”
Anita further suggested that despite being a foodie, Rajesh Khanna was a ‘frugal eater’ as he would only eat two chapatis.
For the unversed, Rajesh Khanna died in 2012 after battling cancer. He was 69.
