The makers of R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh starrer latest film Aap Jaisa Koi unveiled the trailer on June 25 in Mumbai. At the trailer launch event, R Madhavan opened up about his secret of losing weight and looking as fit as ever.
During an interaction with the media, when asked about the secret behind him "de-ageing", Madhavan said, "Everybody has been accusing me doing some de-aging thing but I don't have the budget for that so this never happened. You know when I went for train for Saala Khadoos, I met a lot of dieticians who are telling me all kinds of things how to loose weight, how to get fit and 'have this diet' and ' have this food' and everything, but I really couldn't find someone I can resonate with."
Further sharing what really worked for him, he continued, "Then I met an old timer, jo akhada mein hota hai na, a really old guy who is just sitting there and not a very sophisticated guy. I went to him and said that I really want to look like a boxer and I wanna lose weight and tell me what kind of a diet should I follow and what to eat. He said, 'Input is equal to output. Khana bandh karo patle hojaoge.' That is all. From that day onwards, I am only eating when I am hungry. So that works for me."
R. Madhavan looked suave in a dark green bandhgala suit, while Fatima Sana Shaikh stunned in a pink satin saree as they promoted their upcoming film.
The trailer for Aap Jaisa Koi provides a sneak peek into the life of Madhavan's character, Shrirenu Tripathi, a middle-aged man who is introverted, confined to his routine, and secretly longs for love. When he meets Madhu Bose, played by Fatima, a self-assured and independent woman who lives life on her own terms, his routine life takes a dramatic turn, gradually altering his outlook and emotional landscape.
Directed by Vivek Soni and backed by Dharma Productions, the film will begin streaming on Netflix from July 11, 2025.
