In news that will undoubtedly excite fans of the 1998 action film "Soldier," producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed plans for a sequel. This news comes after actor Bobby Deol had earlier hinted at his desire to revisit the franchise.

Shedding more light on whether the audience would get to see the original leading duo Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta reprising their roles in the sequel, Taurani told News18, "Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao, and Shenaz Treasury may not have been a part of Ishq Vishk Rebound but will Deol and Zinta reprise their roles in Soldier 2? “We aren’t sure about the cast yet. Depends on how the story shapes, we will take a call on whether Bobby and Preity will be a part of it."
The film Soldier unfolds a story of betrayal and vengeance. Major Vijay Malhotra is tragically killed by his colleagues who turn against him. Branded a traitor, Vijay's legacy is tarnished. However, his son, Vicky, refuses to accept this fate. Fueled by a burning desire for justice, Vicky embarks on a mission to avenge his father's death and clear his name.
A box office powerhouse, the film surged to the number two spot on the year's highest-grossing list, right behind "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai." This success can be attributed to the undeniable on-screen chemistry between the lead actors and the film's infectious soundtrack.
