Pooja Bhatt recently took to Instagram to commemorate one month since the passing of her friend and fellow actor, Mukul Dev, sharing a heartfelt tribute that resonated with many. Her post underscored the swift passage of time since his death in May, noting that a month had gone by "in the blink of an eye."
This sentiment, coupled with her observation of "the world meanwhile, in disarray," painted a poignant picture of grief amidst global turmoil.
In her moving tribute, Pooja shared a picture of Mukul and expressed her enduring connection to him. She wrote, “One month. In the blink of an eye. The world meanwhile, in disarray. I take solace in thunder & see you often,In the stars that shine down defiantly through mottled skies. Fly high & free my friend.” Her words evoke a sense of peace in nature's powerful elements, finding echoes of his spirit in the vastness of the sky. The director's raw honesty continued as she added, “You shall be forever loved, felt & missed. Too little too late? Perhaps. But never enough.. never, ever enough. Mukul Dev 17 Sept 1970-23 May 2025.” This candid reflection on the finality of loss, and the eternal longing for more time, surely struck a chord with those who knew and admired Mukul.
Mukul Dev, who passed away at the age of 54, leaves behind a notable legacy in the Indian entertainment industry. He was a familiar face in a variety of films, recognized for his work in popular movies such as 'Son of Sardaar', 'R... Rajkumar', and 'Jai Ho'. In Class 8, he received his first paycheck for impersonating Michael Jackson at a dance show organized by Doordarshan, showcasing his inherent talent and stage presence from a young age. Interestingly, before fully committing to acting, Mukul was also a trained pilot, having received his training from the prestigious Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi. This less-known fact highlights another dimension to his diverse interests and capabilities.
His professional acting career officially began with the television serial 'Mumkin' in 1996, where he played the role of Vijay Pandey. He also featured in Doordarshan's 'Ek Se Badh Kar Ek', a popular comedy Bollywood countdown show. His versatility extended to hosting as well, as he helmed the first season of 'Fear Factor India'.
