During his visit to Israel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a playful break from his busy schedule to meet the cast and crew of the hit Israeli action-thriller series Fauda.
The show, celebrated worldwide for its gripping storytelling, has also found a devoted fan base in India and even inspired an Indian adaptation, Tanaav, streaming on SonyLIV.
The meeting was refreshingly informal, offering a rare glimpse of the Prime Minister in a relaxed setting. He even snapped a group selfie with the team, which he shared on his X account, adding his trademark humour with the caption, “required only a selfie, no undercover work!”

Fans in India and Israel were quick to respond, delighted by this candid and playful side of their leader.
By taking the time to engage with Fauda, Narendra Modi highlighted the unifying power of storytelling and entertainment across borders.
The series, whose title means “chaos” in Arabic, was created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, drawing inspiration from their experiences in the Israel Defense Forces. It follows Doron, a commander in the elite Mista'arvim unit, and his team as they navigate high-stakes counterterrorism missions.

Since its premiere on 15 February 2015, Fauda has captured global attention, with seasons filmed in locations ranging from Kafr Qasim during the 2014 Gaza War to the Gaza Strip, Brussels, Syria, and Lebanon. Its storylines are intense and immersive, blending action, strategy, and human drama.
The series is available internationally on Netflix, and fans eagerly await the fifth season, filmed in 2025 and set for release in early 2026. A film continuation has also been hinted at, though nothing has been officially confirmed by the creators.
