The Seoul International Drama Awards 2025 has revealed its list of winners ahead of the main ceremony set for October 2 at KBS Hall in South Korea. This year’s winners highlight the global power of storytelling, with both Western and Asian projects earning top honors.
Actor and director Ben Stiller picked up the prestigious Golden Bird Prize, the highest category, for directing the second season of Severance. The series’ writer, Dan Erickson, also won Best Screenwriter, further solidifying the show’s critical acclaim.
In the international competition, the UK drama Adolescence stood out, clinching the Grand Prize. The series had already impressed at the Emmy Awards and continued its streak by winning here as well. Its lead actor, Owen Cooper, received the Best Actor award, while Philip Barantini shared the Best Director prize alongside Hirokazu Koreeda for Asura. Cate Blanchett also shone internationally, winning Best Actress for her performance in Disclaimer, while Kim Min Ha was recognized for Pachinko 2.
The Best TV Movie went to The Son from South Korea, and Pachinko 2 was named Best Miniseries. Meanwhile, Turkey’s The Good & The Bad earned recognition in the series category.
In the K-Drama competition, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call and When Life Gives You Tangerines dominated. Ju Ji Hoon earned Best Korean Actor for The Trauma Code, while IU took home Best Korean Actress for When Life Gives You Tangerines. The Outstanding Korean Drama OST went to Young Tak for Unpredictable Life.
The Outstanding Asian Star awards were handed to a mix of celebrated names, including Kim Seon Ho (The Tyrant), Jisoo (Newtopia), Sakaguchi Kentaro (What Comes After Love), Bai Yu (Bank on Me), Film Rachanun Mahawan (Pluto), Daniel Padilla (Incognito), and Anna Jobling (Dear Love).
