Netflix has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming psychological thriller Accused, offering audiences a tense glimpse into a story layered with secrets, suspicion, and emotional upheaval. The film features Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta in leading roles.
Produced under Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital content arm of Karan Johar, and directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, the film revolves around Geetika, a celebrated gynecologist portrayed by Konkona Sen Sharma.
Her seemingly stable life begins to unravel when she is hit with grave allegations of sexual misconduct — accusations that not only threaten her professional standing but also shake the very foundation of her marriage.
Pratibha Ranta plays Meera, Geetika’s wife, who embarks on a determined quest to uncover the truth behind the allegations. As doubts intensify and trust erodes, the story delves into how perception can overshadow facts, leading to devastating consequences.
On Saturday, February 21, Karan Johar shared the trailer on Instagram, building anticipation around the film’s release. Alongside the video, he wrote, "Every relationship has secrets. Are you ready to find theirs? Watch Accused, out 27 February, only on Netflix."
The trailer highlights the psychological toll the accusations take on Geetika. In one poignant moment, she reflects on how she has previously been labeled “strict, stern, and rude,” but being called a “sexual predator” is something she has never encountered before. The film appears to explore the emotional strain of such a charge and its ripple effects on personal relationships.
Through intense confrontations and emotionally charged moments, the trailer shows both Konkona and Pratibha navigating a storm of high drama, inner conflict, and the pursuit of clarity.
The narrative centres on the gradual disintegration of their marriage as uncertainty and suspicion begin to blur the lines between truth and assumption.
Apart from the lead duo, the film also features Mashhoor Amrohi in a key role. The screenplay is written by Sima Agarwal and Yash Keswani, with Anubhuti Kashyap helming the project.
Accused is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on February 27, promising a gripping psychological drama that examines relationships, reputations, and the fragile nature of trust.
