Yo Yo Honey Singh had been in Mexico for professional commitments and was also spending time working on his upcoming tequila brand, Casa Tupka.

The musician had earlier shared that he was visiting agave fields and personally overseeing parts of the process.

In a previous post, he had written about working in the “fields to make my handcrafted CASA TUPKA #tequila in #mexico coming this summer @itsrdm.” The brand is expected to launch later this year, marking a new business chapter for the artist.

The violence erupted after the Mexican government, led by President Claudia Sheinbaum, carried out a raid targeting the CJNG.

Reports suggest that ‘El Mencho’, who had a $15 million bounty on his head, was killed during the operation. While the move is being seen as a significant step in tackling cartel activity, it has also led to fears of retaliation.

Following the news, PTI reported clashes reportedly broke out across eight states. Schools were shut, flights to and from cities like Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara were cancelled, and highways were blocked with burning vehicles.
