Why Kelly Clarkson will not be replacing Kate Perry on ‘American Idol’

Singer Katy Perry announced that she is leaving the iconic singing show ‘American Idol.’ The news of Katy’s departure left the fans of the competitive show with a hopeful eye toward Kelly Clarkson, the former champion.

Kelly Clarkson soon shut down the speculations by saying, “No. No. I can't do that.”

While becoming a part of the judge’s panel on ‘American Idol’ might be a huge deal for many musicians, Clarkson revealed that her children are her priority right now.

"No. No. I can't do that, only because I promised my kids. I was like, 'I want to be there as much as I possibly can,” the Daytime Emmy Award winner said.

She continued, “"It would put me in L.A., and that's why I had to quit The Voice, which I love. I miss that team so much.”

Clarkson also recently relocated her talk show from LA to New York for its fifth season. She revealed that the relocation was a great decision for her and her family.

Fans called it Katy’s “best body of work to date” and that we should “Get ready to dance your a— off.” Many fans also compared Katy Perry’s sixth album to Mariah Carey’s ‘The Emancipation of Mimi.’
