Kelly Clarkson reveals her ex-manager once asked her to get a B**b job: 'You’ve normalised crazy in this industry'

Kelly Clarkson has never been one to hold back her truth, and she proved that again while opening up about one of the more disturbing moments from her early career.

In a recent conversation reported by E! News, Kelly recalled how an ex-manager once suggested she get breast enhancement surgery, a comment that left her stunned and angry. She was still fresh off her American Idol win at the time, navigating a new industry and trying to understand how it worked. Instead, she was hit with an expectation that had nothing to do with her voice or talent.

She said, “I had some dick manager one time tell me to get a b**b job. I was like, ‘Why don’t you get a dick job?’ Like, what? I’m fine with my itty-bitty titties! Get out of here.” It wasn’t just the suggestion, she explained, but the casual tone of it, as if such comments were simply part of the industry.

Clarkson went on to describe how the entertainment business often pushes insecurity onto artists under the guise of “improvement.”

She said, “People say that shit. They say it all the time to people in the industry. They say the craziest shit. I’m like, ‘This is not normal. You’ve normalised crazy.’” She compared the beauty pressure in Hollywood to the exaggerated, artificial appearance of characters in The Hunger Games, adding that many people in entertainment end up looking like they are living in “The Capitol.”

For her, the solution is personal autonomy. Clarkson made it clear she has nothing against plastic surgery when it’s someone’s personal choice. Her issue is when the pressure comes from others. “Do you. Don’t make me do you,” she said. “I like my itty-bitty titties. They’ve served me well.”

The singer has had a turbulent past year in her personal life as well. After her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock fell ill with cancer, Clarkson stepped back from several professional commitments to focus on her two children. Her Las Vegas residency dates in August were postponed, and she shared a heartfelt note with fans explaining why. “This past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote. “I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
