B Praak, known for hit songs such as Teri Mitti and Ranjha, has reportedly received a death threat from a suspected member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, according to reports. The threat, allegedly extortion-linked, has triggered a police probe in Mohali, where the singer’s team filed a complaint following the terrifying communication.
According to the complaint, the call and voice message demanding Rs 10 crore were made to Dilnoor, a close associate of B Praak, from a foreign phone number on January 6, 2026. In the audio message, the caller claimed to be Arju Bishnoi, affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and demanded the ransom money, warning: “Pass this message to B Praak that we want 10 crore. You have one week’s time. Go to any country you want, but if anyone associated with him is found nearby, we will cause damage," the audio message said and then added that if the demand isn’t met, they will “reduce him (B Praak) to dust."
Disturbed by the message, Dilnoor promptly lodged a written complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Mohali on the same day. Authorities have since launched an investigation into the origins of the threat and the individuals involved. Police sources indicated that efforts are now centered on tracing the foreign number and gathering forensic evidence from the voice message and call records.
B Praak, whose real name is Prateik Bachan, has carved out a prominent place in the Indian music scene for his emotionally resonant voice and popular film tracks. While the motive behind this specific threat remains under investigation, law enforcement officials have assured that the matter is being treated seriously, and steps are underway to secure evidence and protect those involved.
