Madonna and her boxer boyfriend Josh Popper allegedly break up amid her busy tour schedule

The US Sun claims that Madonna and Popper's relationship came to an inevitable conclusion because they couldn't find time for one another.

Madonna, the iconic pop star, is single once more after reportedly ending her year-long relationship with boxer Josh Popper. The 65-year-old 'Vogue' singer and the 30-year-old boxing coach have parted ways, primarily due to the challenges of maintaining their relationship amidst Madonna’s hectic Celebration Tour schedule.

According to the US Sun, Madonna and Popper struggled to find time for each other, leading to the relationship's natural end. A source was quoted saying, “Madonna has barely seen Josh for months because her schedule was so hectic. Things just fizzled out.” The insider added that there is no animosity between the two: “There is genuinely no bad
blood — they're still fond of each other.” The couple decided to cool things off but remain friends.

Despite their split, the relationship had its share of supportive moments. Last March, Madonna was spotted cheering on Popper at one of his boxing matches in New York City, showing her support for his career. In turn, Popper was seen attending several of Madonna's tour dates, indicating his support for her musical endeavors.

During her Brooklyn show in December 2023, Popper joined Madonna on stage for a segment where they judged dancers' moves to her hit 'Vogue'. The moment was particularly memorable as the camera captured Madonna giving Popper a kiss on the cheek, much to the delight of the audience. Popper, initially hired to coach Madonna’s son, David Banda, 18, last posted about her on Valentine’s Day, sharing photos of them together with the caption “Missing Portugal.”

Josh Popper appeared comfortable with the attention that came with dating a global superstar like Madonna. An insider told OK Magazine in October 2023, “Josh seems like a genuinely gentle soul who isn't going to freak out like Sean Penn anytime a photographer gets too close. That's really the key to sharing a life with Madonna — being cool under pressure and never letting them see you sweat.”

Popper earned the approval of Madonna's friends by being a positive influence and showing genuine care for her. He even helped take care of her during a severe bacterial infection last June, which could have been life-threatening. An insider noted, “The consensus among Madonna’s friends who really care about her wellbeing and check in on her every week is that despite the age difference, Josh is a positive influence on Madonna. He's protective of her, and there’s no indication at all that he's after her money.”
