BIGHIT Music asserts strong legal action to protect BTS' rights against infringement

BIGHIT Music has asserted strong legal action to protect popular K-Pop band BTS' rights against infringement.

In a recent development concerning the protection of BTS's rights, BIGHIT Music has shared updates regarding their decisive legal actions against any infringement upon the group's rights. This is to ensure BTS' intellectual property is safeguarded and ensure that any unauthorised use or violation is met with swift and robust measures.

BIGHĪT Music shared the following statement on Weverse, a South Korean mobile app and web platform:

"Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We wish to update you on the legal proceedings being taken to protect BTS members’ rights. It has come to our attention that organisational efforts aimed at tarnishing and slandering the artists have escalated in recent weeks. Furthermore, malicious attempts to defame, humiliate, and ridicule the artists or spread rumors and groundless information have become excessive. The company views these actions as severe violation to the artists’ rights and will respond decisively, engaging with another law firm to reinforce our existing legal measures. We are collecting evidence of malicious postings through real-time monitoring as we speak. We will maintain a zero-tolerance policy and pursue this matter rigorously, without leniency or settlements. Thank you."

BIGHIT Music's statement serves as a firm warning to individuals or entities that may attempt to exploit BTS's name, image, or work without proper authorisation. By taking a strong stance against any violations, BIGHIT Music aims to uphold the integrity of BTS' brand and protect their artistic creations from exploitation or misuse.

The ongoing feud between HYBE (the parent company of BIGHIT and ADOR) and ADOR has escalated, with serious allegations and counterclaims dominating headlines. ADOR's CEO, Min Hee Jin, found herself embroiled in controversy after facing accusations from HYBE, including claims of planning to depart the company as outlined in an audit report. Additional allegations, such as shaman involvement and the unauthorised disclosure of artists' personal information, further fuelled the conflict.

In response, Min Hee Jin took to the press to defend herself and address the accusations. However, the situation took a new turn with rumours circulating about HYBE's chairman, Bang Si Hyuk, allegedly being involved in a cult. As of April 28, HYBE has launched an investigation into these rumours, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing dispute between the two companies.
