According to NDTV, Arijit Singh is said to be considering launching his own political party and may also contest elections in the future.
A Bengali film industry insider told the news portal that he could start at the grassroots level before formally launching a party. However, the source added that he is unlikely to participate in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections right away.
For those unfamiliar with his roots, Arijit Singh hails from Jiaganj in Murshidabad, West Bengal.
The singer has not yet made an official statement about his political plans, leaving fans both curious and excited about what the future may hold.
Arijit’s retirement announcement left millions shocked
The announcement of his retirement from playback singing came as an emotional moment on Tuesday evening. Taking to Instagram, Arijit Singh expressed gratitude to the millions of listeners who have supported him throughout his career.
In his message, he wrote, “Hello, Happy New Year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not going to be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”
