Vikrant Massey, known for 12th Fail, recently sparked headlines after expressing his desire to take a break from the industry, leading to rumors of his retirement from Bollywood. However, following this surprising statement, he is now working on a new project with Shanaya Kapoor.

Vikrant Massey was recently spotted in Dehradun, where he is filming his upcoming movie Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan with Shanaya Kapoor. This news follows his earlier announcement about taking a break from acting, which had stirred excitement and concern among his fans.

The movie is produced by Mansi and Varun Bagla, with the screenplay written by Niranjan Iyengar and Mansi Bagla. The music will be composed by Vishal Mishra. It is reportedly based on a short story by the renowned writer Ruskin Bond.

Vikrant Massey took to his Instagram on 2 December, and wrote, "Hello, The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted"

In an exclusive Interview with News 18, Vikrant later said that his retirement statement was misunderstood and he just wants to take a break. He explained, "I'm not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health are also acting up… People misread it," he told News 18.

“Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment. " He continued.

"Vikrant concluded, "My post has been misinterpreted. That I am quiting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I would be back when the time feels right."

On the work front, Vikrant was last seen in The Sabarmati Report alongside Rashii Khanna and Riddhi Dogra.
