Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to captivate audiences with his upcoming film, 'King', where he will portray a gritty and nuanced don. This high-octane action thriller promises to deliver a raw and rustic edge, and it also marks the much-anticipated silver screen debut of Suhana Khan, who recently made her acting debut with the OTT release 'The Archies' last December. Recently, a picture surfaced online, believed to be from the film's set in Spain, sparking excitement and speculation about the production being underway.
The image shows a man, assumed to be Shah Rukh Khan, engaged in a conversation with a group of men while wearing a sharp blue suit. The scenic backdrop of stunning blue water and mountains added to the intrigue and speculation among fans. However, this viral image is not of Shah Rukh Khan, but from a scene in the first episode of the British-Spanish mystery thriller 'White Lines', released in 2020 on Netflix. In the scene, Marcus and his colleagues meet with Mafia boss Oriol Calafat. The series was created by Álex Pina, known for his work on the popular Spanish series 'Money Heist'.
Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is in Italy with his family to attend the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. They left Mumbai following the IPL 2024 victory of the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Previous reports have described Khan's character in 'King' as possessing a complex moral compass with shades of grey that will undoubtedly captivate viewers. Khan is collaborating closely with directors Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh to craft a character that is both stylish and ruthless. Although specific plot details remain under wraps, it is suggested that 'King' will be a fast-paced action thriller that pushes the boundaries of survival. Shah Rukh Khan will play the role of a mentor, guiding a disciple through this perilous world, with Suhana Khan playing the disciple.
It is said that Shah Rukh is deeply involved in the creative direction of 'King' and is also participating in action sequence training alongside Suhana. Directors Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand envision 'King' as a raw and rustic action film with a substantial budget of Rs 200 crore. Reportedly, Siddharth Anand has been in discussions with Western stunt directors to bring an international flair to the action sequences in 'King'.
The highly anticipated movie is slated for a theatrical release in the second half of 2025.
