Following the game, Kavya Maran gave the winning team, KKR, a standing ovation in a display of class and sportsmanship.

Amitabh Bachchan, the iconic Bollywood actor, expressed his sympathy for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran following her team's loss in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), led by Shreyas Iyer, secured a convincing victory over SRH, defeating them by eight wickets to claim the IPL 2024 championship. While many fans and celebrities celebrated KKR's triumph, Bachchan took a moment to acknowledge the emotional impact the loss had on Maran.

In a blog post on Tumblr, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "The IPL Final is over and KKR have WON a most convincing victory .. SRH were simply outplayed .. disappointing in many ways because SRH is a good team and one has seen their very grand performances over the days when they played other matches." He expressed his disappointment at seeing SRH lose despite their strong performances throughout the season. Bachchan's comments highlight the emotional rollercoaster that comes with competitive sports, not just for the players but also for the team owners and supporters.

During the match, Kavya Maran was seen getting emotional in the stadium. Big B observed, "But what was most touching to observe was the pretty young lady ... the owner of SRH, in the Stadium, get emotional after the loss and break into tears, turning her face away from the cameras, so as not to display her emotion... I felt bad for her !! Never mind .. tomorrow is another day .. my dear!"

After the game ended, Kavya Maran showed grace and sportsmanship by giving a standing ovation to the winning team, KKR. Despite her team's defeat, she appreciated the efforts of the KKR players, a gesture that was widely appreciated by fans and the cricketing community. A fan page on X (formerly known as Twitter) posted a video of Maran clapping for KKR, with the caption, "Kavya Maran was hiding her tears. She still appreciated KKR."

The IPL final also brought attention to Shah Rukh Khan, the co-owner of KKR, and his family's reaction to their team's victory. In an Instagram video posted by a fan page, Shah Rukh Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan, was seen asking her father, "Are you happy, Dad?" After which, SRK lovingly hugged his daughter, and Suhana shed tears of joy. This touching family moment, which included a group hug with SRK's sons AbRam and Aryan Khan, quickly went viral on social media, symbolizing the joy and relief of winning the IPL.

The emotional scenes involving both Kavya Maran and the Khan family underscore the deep connections and passionate involvement that team owners, their families, and fans have with the sport. While victories are celebrated with immense joy, defeats can bring profound disappointment and sadness. Bachchan's heartfelt message to Maran and the viral moments of SRK's family serve as reminders of the human side of sports, where emotions run high, and every game can bring both tears and triumphs.

The IPL 2024 final will be remembered not just for KKR's victory but also for the touching displays of sportsmanship and humanity from those closely connected to the game.
