Bollywood singer Monali Thakur has been in the headlines recently due to her divorce rumours. Although not confirmed, the singer's latest social media post has left fans intrigued about whether the rumours are true.
Monali Thakur shared a glimpse from her latest music video for the song, Ek Baar Phir, along with the caption, "THE REASON".
She is shown experiencing unsettling circumstances that imply both physical and emotional abuse, with some scenes even depicting strangulation. Although she hasn't made it apparent whether the imagery in the song is related to her own life, Monali has referred to it as her "most personal" work to date.
Her sincere message comes at a time when there is a lot of conjecture surrounding her marriage, as there are still rumours that she and her husband, Swiss restaurateur Maik Richter, are no longer together.
As per the latest reports, Monali and Maik's marital relationship is reportedly facing certain constraints lately. The rumours of their separation started doing the rounds on the internet after Monali unfollowed Maik on Instagram.
For those unaware, Monali got married to Maik in an intimate wedding ceremony in 2017 and kept their marriage under wraps for almost three years. The Sawar Loon singer finally confirmed the news of her marriage during an interview with ETimes in 2020.
Monali Thakur has always been very private about her personal life. She has never made her relationship with Maik official on social media, keeping her marital life away from public's eye.
As quoted by Hindustan Times, a source revealed, "A lot has changed in these years between them; no one talks about them as a couple any more. Long-distance marriages usually do face such endings."
However, neither Monali nor Maik have confirmed or denied their separation rumours in public.
