Dhanashree recalled how she was subjected to harsh criticism when Chahal appeared at their final divorce hearing wearing a T-shirt that read “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.”

Rise and Fall contestant Dhanashree Verma has opened up about the struggles she faced during and after her divorce from Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. In the latest episode, she addressed the wave of negative PR and trolling that came her way. She also opened up about her current outlook on love.

Dhanashree recalled how she was subjected to harsh criticism when Chahal appeared at their final divorce hearing wearing a T-shirt that read “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.” The unusual choice of attire led to online trolling, much of which was directed at her. She shared her perspective on dignity and respect in marriage.

“Sabke haath mein apni izzat hoti hai, and when you are in a marriage, you are responsible for the other person too. Their respect is also your responsibility. I could have been disrespectful too, you think I don’t have things to say, as a woman? But he was my husband, I respected him even when I was married, and I have to respect the fact that I was married to him,” Dhanashree said.

She further revealed that she has no interest in pursuing love again. She said she isn’t bitter and admitted, “I’m not cynical about love, maybe that's a harsh word, but I’m not interested.”

Talking about the online negativity she faced, Dhanashree emphasised that a person’s work should define their image, not attempts to demean others. “If you want to portray yourself in a good light, let your work speak, why put somebody else down to clean your image?” she questioned. She also acknowledged the biases that exist in public perception, “We live in a country where we know support will be favoured to one particular side. Still, if you want to discuss that, then it’s intentional — but it’s okay, please, everyone be happy.”

Dhanashree Verma, who started her career as a dentist before gaining fame as a dancer and YouTuber, married Yuzvendra Chahal in December 2020. However, their relationship faced turbulence soon after, leading to prolonged speculation. After living separately for 18 months, the couple officially parted ways on March 20, 2025.
