As per Sacnilk, the romantic comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi collected approximately Rs 1.5 crore (nett) across India on its opening day. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 14.86% on Friday.
Breaking down the occupancy in Hindi (2D) theaters, the morning shows saw an 8.64% turnout, which slightly increased to 13.75% in the afternoon. The trend continued upward with 14.12% occupancy in the evening, peaking at 22.93% during the night shows.
Helmed by Mudassar Aziz, Mere Husband Ki Biwi is backed by producers Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh. The film hit theaters on Friday and has been garnering attention for its intriguing storyline.
The film is up against tough competition at the box office, particularly from Vicky Kaushal's historical drama Chhaava, which continues to draw audiences.
The story revolves around Ankur Chadha (played by Arjun Kapoor), a man who is afraid of his bold and outspoken ex-wife, Prabhleen Dhillon (played by Bhumi Pednekar). Just as he finds love again with Antara Khanna (played by Rakul Preet Singh), Prabhleen suffers from retrograde amnesia. The twist? She now believes Ankur has just proposed to her, leading to a series of unexpected and comical events.
Production house Pooja Entertainment took to its X handle to share the film’s opening day collection. Also featuring comedian Harsh Gujral, the rom-com follows a man caught in a complicated love triangle when his ex-wife unexpectedly re-enters his life just as he begins developing feelings for someone new.
