A 33-year-old song featuring Piyush Mishra and Manoj Bajpayee has suddenly gone viral on social media, bringing back memories from the early days of Indian theatre and television. The clip shows a very young Piyush Mishra singing a song titled Suno Re Kissa. What makes this performance special is that he not only sang the song but also wrote and composed it himself.

Piyush Mishra is known as a powerful actor, singer, and writer. Over the years, he has written songs for many films and impressed audiences with his unique voice and thought-provoking lyrics. But this viral clip takes viewers back to 1991, when he was part of a theatre production that was later shown on Doordarshan.

The play was directed by well-known theatre director Barry John. The script, music, and songs were all created by Piyush Mishra. Along with him, the play also featured Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Seth Shah, and Purnima Kharga. In the clip, Piyush can be seen playing the harmonium while singing, as the other actors repeat the lines with him. The song highlights a social issue, which makes it even more meaningful and relevant.

Interestingly, many viewers were surprised to see Manoj Bajpayee in the video. Wearing a blue T-shirt and grey pants, the young actor looks so different that some people could not recognize him at first glance.

So why has this old clip gone viral now? After 33 years, the video was shared by the official social media handle of Prasar Bharati Archives. The caption mentioned that the play Suno Re Kissa, which was telecast years ago, is being presented once again for audiences. After that, Barry John also shared the clip on Instagram and wrote an emotional note wondering if they really looked that young back then.

The video has received many heartfelt comments. One user said it is painful to compare the creativity of 90s television with today’s content. Another praised the simplicity and beauty of the play, calling Piyush Mishra and Manoj Bajpayee among the greatest actors of all time. The viral clip has not just revived an old song, but also reminded people of the golden era of meaningful storytelling.
