Actress Warina Hussain, who made her Bollywood debut with Loveyatri in 2018, has officially changed her name to Hira Warina. The actress announced her decision via an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, August 6, marking her return to the platform after a hiatus of nearly eight months.
Sharing a note, she wrote, "I've officially changed my name to Hira Warina – a decision rooted in numerology and guided by spirit. New chapter. Same essence. Just more aligned than ever." The actress thanked her close supporters, adding, "To those who've stayed close, your love means more than you know." Her post was signed off with the caption, "But always, Yours truly, Alien."
Ahead of the official announcement, she had posted a playful Instagram story stating, "Aaj mera naamkaran ho raha hai... and no, I'm not even joking," hinting at the name change.
Hira’s fans warmly welcomed her back and flooded the comments with support. One follower wrote, "New name, new beginning. All the best," while another commented, "Touchwood for everything this new name brings."
Her return to social media came earlier this week when she posted a selfie with the caption, "Long time no see."
Born in Kabul in 1999 to an Afghan mother and Iraqi father, Hira Warina (formerly Warina Hussain) grew up between Afghanistan and the United States. She later moved to India in her teenage years and pursued a degree in Performing Arts from the New York Film Academy.
Hira's Bollywood journey began under the mentorship of Salman Khan, who launched her in the romantic drama Loveyatri opposite Aayush Sharma. While the film received mixed reviews, her performance—particularly in the festive hit song Chogada—won her widespread attention. She later shared screen space with Salman Khan in the song Munna Badnaam Hua from Dabangg 3, and appeared in rapper Badshah’s viral music video She Move It Like in December 2018.
In 2021, she stepped back from social media to prioritize her mental peace, although her professional updates continued through her team.
