Kriti Sanon is gearing up for her highly anticipated OTT film ‘Do Patti,’ which is releasing on Netflix . She is seen with the talented Kajol, who plays the role of a police officer for the first time onscreen.
The "Crew" actor made her Bollywood debut in 2014 with "Heropanti," alongside Tiger Shroff. Audiences were eagerly anticipating the film, as Tiger was already well-known due to his father, the mega superstar Jackie Shroff.
In a recent interview with Indian Express, she recalled working the the actor and was labelled as "Tiger Shroff's heroine" after the film.
She said, “However, for a while after that, people referred to me as ‘the one who appeared in Tiger Shroff’s movie.’ When you are not from the industry (film family), it takes longer for you to etch your name and face into the minds of people. At that point, the kids of Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, who later directed Bareilly Ki Barfi, used to call me ‘Tiger didi.’ Those were the instances when I realised I would have to work doubly hard to get people to recognise me and know me for who I am,”.
Sanon also mentioned that she gained recognition from Bareilly Ki Barfi. The movie was released in 2017. Alongside, Kriti, Rajkummar rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Seema Pahwa were also in the film.

Kriti's next film, Do Patti will mark her debut as a producer and Shaheer Sheikh’s debut in Bollywood. Kajol will be seen playing a cop for the first time. Netflix describes the film as a puzzling investigation that leads a no-nonsense cop down a dark path involving the vicious rivalry between twin sisters and the volatile man they both love.
Speaking about Do Patti and her dual role, Kriti Sanon said, “I’m hoping it will stay with audiences and also move them to tears. Traditionally, in such movies, the two sisters have a separate journey and they end up meeting towards the end. But here 70% to 80% of my scenes were with Saumya and Shailee in the same frame. In the early days, they would put scotch tape in the centre of the set and block off half the camera. I had to act out half the scene and then walk over to shoot the second portion. Also, the camera couldn’t move. In certain cases, it still can’t.”
Kriti Sanon and Kajol’s upcoming thriller Do Patti is set to premiere on Netflix on October 25.
