After receiving the award, the actress expressed gratitude and said, “Thank for giving me this incredible award. I am already happy to have miraculously been able to be part of this film and am even happier to receive this award.”

The movie, which tells the tale of screenwriter Lee (Shim) who, during a period of depression, travels to a little hamlet covered in snow, won Best Japanese Film as well.

Kinema Junpo is a Japanese film magazine that was founded in 1919 and is well-known for its Best Ten awards, which are among the most distinguished in Japanese cinema.

Prior to participating in Japanese films like The Journalist (2019), Shim has starred in several box office smashes since her 2003 debut, including Sunny (2011) and Miss Granny (2014).
