DK & SEUNGKWAN debut as SEVENTEEN unit DxS with upcoming mini-album serenade

K-pop sensation SEVENTEEN’s DK and SEUNGKWAN are set to form a new unit under the name DxS (SEVENTEEN), with their first mini-album, Serenade, scheduled for release on January 12.

The duo has already generated excitement by unveiling a trailer titled An Ordinary Love on HYBE LABELS’ official YouTube channel. The cinematic teaser presents a narrative of lovers walking divergent paths in life, reflecting the album’s emotional trajectory and intensifying anticipation for the upcoming release.

The trailer begins with DK struggling to hang up an unanswered phone call, capturing a moment suspended between longing and hesitation. Subsequent scenes portray DK and his loved one occupying the same space yet feeling emotionally distant, with symbolic imagery such as wilted plants and dried fruit hinting at a relationship on the brink of ending.

DK’s monotonous routine experiences a shift when an unexpected encounter introduces a new tension and a pivotal turning point in the storyline.

Meanwhile, SEUNGKWAN takes on the role of a clerk at a comic book café, a character who is reminded of a past love upon noticing a customer’s book. A fleeting smile crosses his face as he relives the warmth of the memory, only to have the moment disrupted when he accidentally drops a comic while rushing to hand over books. The title of the fallen book, Blue, flashes across the scene, adding a layer of intrigue to the unfolding narrative.

Serenade, which signifies “a love song sung at night,” encapsulates the emotions between meeting and parting through DK and SEUNGKWAN’s poignant storytelling.
