  • Bollywood fans claim the show's climax resembles SRK's film Fan ending
  • Go Youn-Jung's rooftop fall scene praised for its visual and emotional impact

The newly released Korean drama Can This Love Be Translated has swiftly captured the attention of viewers across the world, dominating online conversations for its emotional depth and visually arresting storytelling.

However, Bollywood fans have noticed that the K-Drama may have copied their climax from the SRK's film.

Starring Kim Seon-Ho and Go Youn-Jung, the series follows the journey of a popular actress and her interpreter as they travel across countries filming a television show, gradually forming a heartfelt and complicated romance along the way.

At the centre of the buzz is Go Youn-Jung’s portrayal of Cha Mu-hee, a struggling yet determined actress desperate for her big break.

The very first episode delivers a moment that has stayed with audiences long after the credits roll.

While filming the final scene of a horror movie, in which she plays a zombie character named Do Ra-mi, Cha Mu-hee suffers a devastating fall from a rooftop. What should have been a triumphant career milestone instead leaves her in a coma that lasts for several months.

The fall itself is shot with striking beauty. As Cha Mu-hee tumbles from the building, the dark sky suddenly fills with bursts of fireworks, lighting up her descent in an almost dreamlike manner. The contrast between celebration and tragedy makes the moment especially haunting. The scene ends with her lying motionless on the ground, staring at the illuminated sky before everything fades to black.

In a cruel twist of fate, her film goes on to become a worldwide hit while she remains unconscious, unknowingly rising to fame.

Others connected strongly with the character’s emotional undertone, quoting the show: "'My life had been entirely devoid of fireworks, and here they were, exploding in the distant sky' Mhee seems to have an underlying sadness that she can’t seem to shake, my heart already breaks at the sight of her tears."

However, some Bollywood fans noticed similarities between the scene and the climax of Fan, starring Shah Rukh Khan. One tweet claimed, "New Netflix K- Drama Series #CanThisLoveBeTranslated Released Recently Have Reference of #Fan Ending Scene. Almost Exact Copy."

Reactions ranged from admiration to criticism, including comments such as "This is the global impact of his movies but in his own country he's hated," and "Scene to scene copy."

On the other hand, the fans of the K-Drama were deeply moved by the scene and flooded social media with praise.

One viewer wrote, "This transition is insane. This fireworks blooming part inexplicably pairs so well with death. It’s perfectly suited to be used as a transition for a 'life flashing before your eyes' moment," while another observed, "Theres something so spectacular about this shot, an unknown actress falling & hitting rock bottom as fireworks explode foreshadowing her eventual rise & fame. poetic cinema."

Another added, "The part where Cha Muhee falls with fireworks as background is such beautiful scene. One of my favorite."

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next film, King, which stars his daughter Suhana Khan and reunites him with Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. Director Siddharth Anand has hinted that more details about the release will be revealed soon.
