BLACKPINK’s Rosé has been crowned No 1 on TC Candler’s 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2025. This has ignited a wave of global celebration, and a parallel surge of online debate.

On December 29, TC Candler unveiled its highly anticipated annual list, which ranks celebrities from across the world based on facial aesthetics, global appeal, and public perception. Over the years, the list has grown into a viral pop culture event, often sparking heated discussions across social media platforms and online communities. This year, Rosé secured the top position, surpassing numerous international stars and fellow K-pop idols.

Following the announcement, fans across the globe flooded X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and fan forums with congratulatory messages, praising Rosé for her signature elegance, slender visuals, and distinctive aura. Supporters highlighted her ability to embody both high-fashion sophistication and approachable charm, pointing out her consistent presence at global fashion events and her role as a luxury brand ambassador.

However, the celebration was not unanimous. In South Korea, the ranking quickly became a trending topic on online communities, where several netizens questioned both the list’s credibility and its relevance to Korean beauty standards. Critics argued that TC Candler’s rankings often lean toward international popularity rather than traditional domestic ideals of beauty.

Some comments expressed skepticism outright, with netizens writing, "1st place for beauty is kinda…"

Others questioned the choice more directly, stating, "Of course she’s pretty, but plastic surgery…"

Another comment read, "I could understand if it was Jisoo maybe, but Rosé…"

At the same time, Rosé also received support from users who pushed back against the criticism. One netizen commented, "Rosé’s face shape is really pretty."

Still, harsher remarks surfaced as well, including, "Her…? This isn’t it… She’s just skinny, LBFR." and "Does TC Candler like sambaekan? (eyes with whites showing)"

Despite the polarized reactions, Rosé’s No 1 ranking reinforces her immense global influence. Her presence continues to dominate international conversations, further cementing her status as one of K-pop’s most visible and talked-about figures on the world stage.
