BLACKPINK’s Rosé has once again reminded fans that life as a global star isn’t always glamorous—especially when it comes to love.

In a refreshingly honest conversation on the Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper, Rosé opened up about the extraordinary lengths she once went to in order to keep a relationship private.

Laughing as she looked back on that time, Rosé admitted just how stressful dating was under constant public watch.

When asked how she managed to avoid paparazzi, she said, “I literally tried everything,” before revealing the fear that followed her everywhere: “If we get caught, it’s over.” That pressure, she explained, made even the simplest moments feel risky.

In what has now become the most talked-about part of the interview, Rosé shared that she once disguised herself as a grandmother to move around unnoticed.

She bought a short, curly wig at a shopping mall and began closely observing elderly women—how they dressed, the bags they carried, even the way they walked. “I matched grandma style clothes and a bag and went to my boyfriend’s house like that,” she said. “There were basically no places we could go.”

What makes the story even more surreal is how long she kept it up. Rosé revealed that she maintained the disguise for six months.

Looking back with humour, she recalled, “Later, I saw an actual grandmother wearing the clothes I used to wear and asked, ‘Were those my clothes?’ and it turned out they were.”

Beyond the laughs, Rosé also spoke openly about the emotional side of relationships. When asked if she had ever been disappointed by an ex, she answered with honesty, saying, “I was disappointed most of the time, but there was one person I wasn’t.” The quiet vulnerability in that statement struck a chord with many listeners.

As for where she stands now, Rosé kept it simple but sincere. “I’m looking for love,” she said, while also expressing concern about being boxed into labels. She added, “Just because I’m from a K-pop group doesn’t mean I’m not a human being like everyone else.”
