Popular K-pop girl band BLACKPINK member Jennie has recently added a new home to her luxurious list. She has bought Hannam New Town, which was formerly used as the Iraqi Embassy in South Korea. She bought the place for 20 billion Korean won (approximately Rs 125 crore).

Although it was announced late, the deal has drawn interest from the entertainment and real estate sectors as she expands her real estate holdings with the significant purchase of a property in Seoul's renowned Yongsan District.

Numerous Korean media outlets have reported that Jennie bought the building in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, a neighbourhood renowned for its upscale real estate, embassies, and close proximity to redevelopment areas like Yongsan Park and Hannam New Town.

According to reports, the ownership transfer was completed in December 2025, after the transaction had supposedly occurred in May 2025.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s real transaction price disclosure system on the 11th, Jennie acquired the land and building located in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for a total of 20 billion won on May 24 of last year. The land price was approximately 19.8 billion won, and the building cost around 100 million won.

Jennie completed the ownership transfer process on December 3 of the same year. Given that no separate mortgage rights were registered in the official register, it is presumed to have been a full cash purchase.
