Karan Johar’s mother Hiroo Johar hospitalised; Manish Malhotra pays a visit

Karan Johar's mother, Hiroo Johar, was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital yesterday. Reports indicate there is no major cause for alarm. Close family friend and celebrated designer Manish Malhotra was spotted visiting her at the hospital, offering support during this time.

Karan Johar has often shared updates about his mother’s health. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hiroo Johar faced significant health challenges, undergoing two major surgeries.

In a heartfelt post shared on social media, Karan had provided a detailed update on his mother’s condition in 2021. He described her as a "superhero" for enduring these health scares with immense strength and humor. "My Mother… My superhero! She has had two massive surgeries in the lockdown… In the past 8 months," Karan wrote, accompanied by videos from the hospital.

The first of these surgeries was a spinal fusion, performed by the skilled Dr. Bhojraj. The second was a right knee replacement, carried out by the renowned Dr. Maniar. Karan expressed deep gratitude towards the medical professionals who cared for his mother, highlighting their expertise and dedication. "Her Spinal Fusion Surgery (the brilliance of Dr. Bhojraj) and her right knee replacement (the genius of Dr. Maniar) were both endured with her indomitable spirit and a sense of humor," he shared.

Despite having crossed 80, Hiroo Johar's zest for life remains unshaken. Karan proudly spoke of her youthful spirit, comparing it to that of a millennial. "She is nearly 79 but has the spirit and zest for life as a millennial does! I am so so proud of her… I love you so much Mama!" he had shared in 2021.
