In a recent press conference held ahead of the release of his new film 'Kill,' renowned Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar finally broke his silence on the controversial incident involving actress Kangana Ranaut. The incident, which took place at the Chandigarh Airport, saw Kangana being slapped by a CISF official, Kulwinder Kaur. This altercation has sparked widespread debate and reactions within the industry and among the public.

Addressing the media, Karan Johar made it clear that he condemns all forms of violence. "I do not support or condone any form of violence, verbal or physical," he stated firmly when questioned about his stance on the incident.

Earlier, Kangana Ranaut had expressed her frustration with the Bollywood fraternity for not speaking out about the incident. In a now-deleted Instagram story, she wrote, "Dear film industry, you all are either celebrating or are totally mum on the airport attack on me. Remember if tomorrow you are walking disarmingly on some street of your country or anywhere else in the world and some Israeli/Palestinian hits you or your children just because you tried to bring eyes to Rafah or stood up for Israeli hostage… then you will see I will be fighting for your rights of free speech, if someday you wonder why I am where I am remember you are not me (sic)."

The incident at the Chandigarh Airport occurred while Kangana was traveling to Delhi. According to her account, as she proceeded to the boarding point after a security check, the CISF officer, Kulwinder Kaur, stationed at the frisking area, allegedly argued with her and subsequently slapped her. This shocking event has since been linked to Kangana's controversial remarks about women in Punjab during the farmers' agitation, which many believe provoked the altercation.

Kangana, who is also a Member of Parliament elected from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, did not shy away from highlighting the severity of the situation. The incident has not only brought attention to her ongoing disputes within the industry but also raised questions about the security protocols and the behavior of security personnel.

The reactions to the incident have been varied. Some have supported Kangana's call for justice and condemned the CISF officer's actions, while others have criticized her for her outspoken and often polarizing views. The debate has further intensified with Karan Johar's statement, as it reflects a significant voice within Bollywood finally addressing the issue.

Karan Johar's condemnation of violence aligns with the broader call for peaceful and respectful interactions, regardless of differing opinions and conflicts. His statement, "I do not support or condone any form of violence, verbal or physical," resonates as a reminder of the importance of maintaining civility and respect, especially in public and professional spaces.

This incident is a stark reminder of the challenges and complexities that public figures face, especially when their personal security is compromised. It also underscores the responsibility of the industry to stand against violence and support its members in times of crisis.
