Actor-producer Vishnu Manchu, who plays Bhakta Kannappa in the movie, said he hopes the spiritual message of the film will be understood all over the world.

The countdown has started for Vishnu Manchu's eagerly anticipated mythological action epic, Kannappa. With only a few days until its June 27, 2025, theatrical debut, the movie formally opened reservations in North America today. Indian reservations will open on June 25. With trade analysts predicting it could become the first devotional Telugu film to aim for a Rs 100-crore opening day worldwide, all signs point to an extraordinary global launch.

Large-scale worldwide rollout on 5,400 screens

With the support of a huge international distribution, Kannappa will be shown in more than 5,400 theaters worldwide, including 1,100 theaters abroad and 4,300 theaters in India. More than 200 premieres will take place in the U.S. market alone, establishing a new standard for Telugu devotional dramas. To improve the cinematic experience, the movie will also be shown in high-end formats like IMAX, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema.

Kannappa Reaches New Horizons

Actor-producer Vishnu Manchu, who plays Bhakta Kannappa in the movie, said he hopes the spiritual message of the film will be understood all over the world.

"We want to spread the devotion of Bhakta Kannappa to every household," Vishnu stated. "The numbers will follow if viewers sense the love we put into this movie."

The mythical story of a tribal hunter who turns into one of Lord Shiva's most devoted devotees—even offering his own eyes as a sign of devotion—serves as the inspiration for Kannappa.

A Divine Ensemble Star-Studded

Akshay Kumar plays Lord Shiva in the Mukesh Kumar Singh-directed movie, while Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal have significant cameo roles. The film's strong ensemble is completed by Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, and others.

Sheldon Chau's breathtaking cinematography, Stephen Devassy's spiritually stirring score, and workshop's high-end visual effects all add to the film's epic scope and compelling narrative.

Strong distributor advances, corporate reservations, and a ton of traffic on ticketing websites like BookMyShow, PayTM Movies, Fandango, and Atom Tickets are all reported by industry sources. According to these signs, Kannappa might become the first movie to gross over 100 crores, which is extremely uncommon, particularly for a devotional movie.

With majesty in every shot and spirituality at its heart, Kannappa is more than just a film; it has the potential to become a cinematic movement. Now, all eyes are on June 27, when a star-studded cast, innovative filmmaking, and Indian mythology combine to create what could be a landmark film for Indian cinema.
